Seoul, South Korea – Eighteen people have lost their lives due to the severe rainfall in South Korea, said the Korean Meteorological Administration. Further heatwaves are expected to follow.

The torrential rains that have impacted South Korea have moved past advisories for heavy rain in the area, according to multiple reports. The area’s meteorological agency has already issued forecasts for heatwaves set to impact the region. The rains have led to a loss of life, with eighteen fatalities and another nine persons reported missing. At least 14,000 people were forced to leave their homes because of the rain. The rains have swept South Korea and brought about flash floods and landslides in the region.
