European Leaders Call for Israel to Put an End to 'Gaza Humanitarian Crisis'

On Friday, European powers called for an end to the humanitarian emergency in Gaza, while the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) warned that nearly one-third of the population in the conflict-ridden Palestinian area are going without food for extended periods. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres severely criticized the international community’s lack of interest and response to the severe starvation in the enclave, describing it as a “moral crisis that tests the world’s moral compass.”
