Israeli cabinet endorses proposal to seize control of Gaza City

The Israeli security cabinet has sanctioned the takeover of northern Gaza City, marking a further intensification of the ongoing conflict. In remarks made just prior to the meeting, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israel’s objective was to assume full control of the Gaza Strip with the intention of transferring governance to “friendly Arab forces” in lieu of Hamas authority.
