‘T realm has run out’: Madonna encourages the Pope to visit Gaza | Global News

The pop superstar Madonna has made an emotional plea to the Pope, urging him to visit Gaza in order to bring hope to its children. In a message spread across her various social media platforms, Madonna emphasized that the Pope, as a religious leader, is one of the few individuals not subject to the restrictive travel bans affecting the region and stressed the urgency of the situation.

Madonna, a Catholics by upbringing, pointed out that political action is insufficient and that only an awakening of our collective conscience can drive change. This she stated in a post inspired by her son Rocco’s birthday, who she mentioned in her message. She described wishing to offer her son, as a gift, the chance to do his part in the effort to save innocent children caught amid the violence in Gaza.

Madonna clarified that she was not assigning blame or taking sides but recognized that everyone, including the mothers of hostages, are in pain. She called for their release as well.

She also shared a picture captioned “Pope Leo XIV leads a Mass for young people in Rome,” referencing the Pope’s commitment to peace and his recent inauguration highlight by his calls for an end to the violence in Palestine.

The World Health Organisation’s director, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus thanked Madonna for her support towards the victims of the conflict, especially the children, illustrating the grave situation with more than 50,000 children killed or injured since last October, following reports from UNICEF.

Madonna’s message has yet to receive an official response from the Vatican.
