President Donald Trump supports Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s proposal to grant Moscow full control of the Donbas region and freeze the front lines in other areas within an agreement with Ukraine, as confirmed by a European diplomat to Fox News.

Following his meeting with Putin in Alaska on Friday, Trump informed European allies that Putin reiterated his desire for the key Luhansk and Donetsk regions. However, Putin appeared amenable to ending the stalemate in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson and freezing the front lines.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously dismissed the notion of yielding Donbas territory.
