Virginia Giuffre’s relatives argue that Ghislaine Maxwell has been provided an opportunity to refashion her narrative. They say as she publishes her memoir. Prior to her conviction for sex trafficking, she was initially found guilty by a jury.

The family of Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent sex trafficking accusers, expressed outrage at the US Department of Justice’s release of an interview with Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell, a convicted sex trafficker and former girlfriend of the deceased financier Epstein, challenged many claims of child sex trafficking and abuse during a two-day interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in July. The transcripts of the interview, released on Friday, were said to give Maxwell a platform to rewrite history and showed she was never challenged about her court-proven lies. Virginia Giuffre’s family stated that the content of the transcripts contradicts Maxwell’s conviction for child sex trafficking and invalidates the experiences of the brave survivors who contributed to her conviction. They further called for the Department of Justice to investigate and hold accountable “the many rich and powerful people who enabled Ghislaine Maxwell’s and Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.”
