Will Ukraine’s youth come back once its borders reopen? – DW – 08/30/2025

New rules in Ukraine now allow young men under 22 to cross the border without restriction. This is aimed at keeping ties with the country strong. Previously, men aged between 18 and 60 were not allowed to leave. The change comes despite the draft in Ukraine currently targeting men aged 25 and older. However, exceptions remain for those in certain governmental positions. The change may have a negative impact in terms of retaining young Ukrainians within the country.
