Belgium to acknowledge Palestine as a state during the United Nations General Assembly, as per the foreign minister’s statement.


Following in the footsteps of France, the UK, and Canada, Belgium announced its decision to recognize the State of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly this month. Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot made this declaration on Tuesday, emphasizing that the country will enforce “firm sanctions” on the Israeli government in response to the ongoing “humanitarian tragedy” in Gaza.
