United States and European Union intensify energy sanctions against Russia, causing strain on Hungary and Slovakia.

According to a sector specialist, Hungary and Slovakia are being compelled by both the United States and the European Union to discontinue their reliance on Russian fossil fuels. With growing pressure from Washington, Hungary has recently entered into a long-term gas agreement with Shell, aiming to supplement its energy sources and reduce dependency on Russian supplies.
