An elderly British couple, Barbie Reynolds (76) and Peter Reynolds (80), who have spent over seven months in a maximum-security Talibab prison in Afghanistan, have finally returned to the UK. Upon their return, their son, Jonathan Reynolds, expressed their happiness and excitement to reunite with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom they hadn’t seen in a long time. The couple had been living in Afghanistan for decades and were arrested in February. They were later released from detention on Friday and flown back to Heathrow Airport on Saturday, after being reunited with their daughter in Qatar. The couple described their experience and the conditions they had been kept under in prison, mentioning the hardship they faced while in custody. They also expressed their plans to return to Afghanistan soon, as they hold dual citizenship and have lived there for 18 years.
