Global Organization Refuses Proposal by China and Russia on Prolonged Sanction Suspension for Iran

Fox News has announced that users can now listen to articles on their platform. The United Nations recently failed to approve a resolution presented by China and Russia, which aimed to extend sanctions relief for Iran for an additional six months under the nuclear deal. The resolution received support from only four countries, including Algeria, China, Pakistan, and Russia, while several others, including the United States and the United Kingdom, opposed it.

This follows the activation by Britain, France, and Germany of the “snapback” mechanism in the nuclear deal. This mechanism reinstates sanctions on Iran due to the stalled negotiations regarding its nuclear program. Iran’s President accused the United States of ‘grave betrayal’ in a speech at the UN.
