An oil tanker and a cargo vessel collided in the North Sea prompting the UK coastguard to issue an emergency response. A spokesperson from the coastguard confirmed that they are currently coordinating the emergency response to the collision which occurred off the coast of East Yorkshire. The alarm was raised at 9.48 am. The response involved the deployment of a Coastguard rescue helicopter, lifeboats from Skegness, Bridlington, Maplethorpe, and Cleethorpes, a fixed-wing aircraft, and nearby vessels with fire-fighting capabilities. It’s been reported that the ongoing response incident is occurring.
