The Age has previously published Palmer’s anti-immigration and anti-welcome to country advertisements in the past week. The Newcastle Herald’s publisher, Australian Community Media, removed the ad from its digital edition and apologized, stating that the ad did not align with their company values. Nine Entertainment, the publisher of the Age, is reportedly not running the ad in the Sydney Morning Herald. The decision to publish an advertisement that does not reflect journalistic integrity and diversity has been met with criticism and complaints from staff and readers.
