Europe vows 'firm' response to new US tariffs on steel and aluminium

European leaders vowed a tough response to US tariffs on Tuesday, with EU chief Ursula von der Leyen saying the “unjustified” move will be met by “firm and proportionate countermeasures”. US President Donald Trump has announced an increase on steel and aluminium tariffs to 25 percent on all nations “without exceptions or exemptions”.
