The European Council is currently holding a summit in Brussels, where defense and Ukraine are key points being addressed.

“We all desire peace. It must be a just peace for the territory of Ukraine,” expressed Irish Foreign Minister Thomas Byrne. “If we can conclude the war and ensure the protection of Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty, then it will surely have been worth our efforts.”

Minister Byrne further stressed the importance of multilateralism and its role in achieving peace and economic prosperity.

Decisions regarding EU security and defense, as well as an effective strategy for trade relations with the US under the second term of President Trump, are also anticipated from the summit.

This episode of Radio Schuman includes a discussion in the European Parliament with Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, as well as an exploration of a recent study uncovering the most disappointing tourist attractions in the world.

Radio Schuman is hosted and produced by Maïa de la Baume, with audio editing by Johan Breton. Music by Alexandre Jas.
