Overnight cross-border strikes continued into Tuesday, resulting in multiple casualties reported across seven regions of the country.
Russian forces launched approximately 140 drones in an attack on Ukraine, leaving several individuals injured. Notably, a residential area in Kherson was targeted by Russian shelling.
Although several private homes sustained damage, fortunately, no casualties were reported in Kherson, as confirmed by Roman Mrochko, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration. Emergency teams promptly assessed the damage and initiated recovery efforts.
Residents recollected the impact of the strikes, with Svitlana Balezina recounting how the first strike occurred behind her house, followed by a second strike that directly struck her dwelling, causing shattered windows and structural damage. Valentyna Kvitko described the collapse of ceilings and broken windows, while Liudmyla Lazorko confirmed that this marked the second attack on the neighborhood within a five-day period.
Kvitko recounted their experience, stating how they were in the house asleep when the first strike occurred, causing them to rush to the hallway. Immediately after, a second strike followed, resulting in kitchen windows bursting open and ceilings collapsing. Standing in the hallway, Kvito described her intense shaking and how, after dressing, she ran outside. Upon returning, the interior of their house was severely damaged.
Furthermore, the number of individuals injured in Ukraine on Monday due to a Russian missile strike in the center of the city of Sumy increased to 101, including 23 children, as reported by the Sumy regional administration.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, Ukraine continued its deliberate drone strikes against Russia’s civilian energy facilities. One attack led to the destruction of a high-voltage power line connecting the Rostov nuclear power plant with the city of Tikhoretsk in the southern Krasnodar region, while another strike targeted the Svatovo gas distribution station in the Russia-occupied Ukrainian region of Luhansk.
