European officials struggle to form a consensus on the establishment of a ‘reassurance force’.

The European allies of Ukraine convened on Thursday to address security arrangements for a possible ceasefire with Russia. Despite a consensus on maintaining Russian sanctions, there was disagreement regarding the deployment of French and UK military forces to Ukraine to ensure the truce. UK Prime Minister, however, emphasized that Europe is “getting its act together.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also appealed to the US to intensify its aid.
