Combat Situations
- Ukraine’s air force reported destroying 65 of 111 drones launched by Russia during the night, resulting in damages to the Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Donetsk regions.
- At least two people were killed and 25 injured in Kharkiv following a Russian drone strike on a military hospital, shopping center, apartment buildings, and other locations late on Saturday.
- Russia claimed to have captured the village of Shchebraki in the southern Zaporizhia region and Panteleimonivka in the eastern Donetsk region.
- Moscow accused Ukraine of attacking Russian energy facilities within the last 24 hours, despite a U.S.-brokered agreement to refrain from targeting such sites.
Political Developments
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned in an overnight address his conversation with the chief military commander, Oleksandr Syrskii, regarding the situation on the 1,000-km (621-mile) front line. Zelenskyy stated they are “taking active measures to prevent the occupiers from advancing into the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
- Ukraine accused Russia of committing “war crimes” after it targeted a military hospital, which they claim breached “the norms of international humanitarian law”. Zelenskyy expressed the expectation of a robust response from the West against the near-daily Russian attacks on Ukraine.
