Following a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, the death count has risen to 1,644, according to the ruling junta. In addition, 3,408 individuals have been injured and at least 139 people are still missing. The earthquake also affected neighboring Thailand, where the collapse of a skyscraper under construction resulted in the deaths of at least 10 individuals.
