The number of fatalities from the 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has increased to 1,644, with 3,408 individuals injured, as stated by the ruling junta on Saturday. Furthermore, at least 139 people remain unaccounted for. The earthquake’s impact extended to neighboring Thailand, where a collapsing skyscraper under construction resulted in the fatalities of at least 10 individuals. In response, the International Rescue Mission has deployed personnel to provide emergency aid and coordinate rescue operations in both Myanmar and Thailand, as confirmed by Elinor Raikes, the Vice President for Program Delivery at the International Rescue Mission.
