European car manufacturers are bracing for impact from U.S. President Donald Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on imported cars, which went into effect on Thursday. The announcement in late March has already caused disruptions in global supply chains, causing concern among major European manufacturers. In response, Euro-American automaker Stellantis laid off hundreds of American workers and has announced temporary closures of two plants, one in Canada and another in Mexico.
