Turkey’s main opposition party plans to convene urgently under pressure from Erdoğan’s government.

The Turkish opposition party, the Republican People’s Party (CHP), is set to organize an extraordinary congress on April 6th. The chair of CHP, Ozgur Ozel, made this announcement to the press. This development comes in the wake of a more extensive legal campaign targeting the party. It stems from an inquiry launched by a prosecutor in Ankara regarding potential wrongdoings at the party’s congress in 2023. Jasper Mortimer, France24’s correspondent in Turkey, brings us the most recent updates.
