Tens of thousands of Catholic Church followers are expected to attend, as Easter Sunday is the highlight of the Christian calendar. The Vatican stated that the pope’s health will determine his level of participation in the service. Despite being out of the hospital for four weeks, the 88-year-old pope still needs time to fully recover and his public appearances have been limited. This year’s Easter festival holds additional significance as the Catholic Church has declared 2025 a Jubilee or holy year, leading to an estimated 1 million visitors in Rome this weekend.
