Hundreds of faithful attended the Holy Spirit Parish in Goma, undeterred by the climate of fear and unrest. Through music and prayer, their deep yearning for peace was palpable.
Present among the congregation was Corneille Nangaa, a key figure of the M23 rebel group.
Goma’s Bishop Willy Ngumbi Ngengele delivered a stirring sermon, advocating for peace.
“This day calls for us to become people of peace. Lets’ lay aside differences. Let’s strive for peace, not for evil, death, or insecurity. Instead, let’s advocate for peace, security, brotherhood, and love,” said Ngengele.
