In the early hours of Thursday, at least nine people were killed and 63 were injured as a result of a combined Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, as reported by Ukrainian authorities.
The missile strikes, which started late Wednesday, caused significant damage in several areas of the city, with fires erupting at over a dozen locations. Emergency services were actively responding throughout the night.
According to the State Emergency Situations Service, 42 individuals were admitted to the hospital, including six children. Rescue operations were continuing in districts where residential buildings were targeted.
“Kyiv is under a coordinated assault, featuring ballistic missile strikes from multiple angles,” announced Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city military administration.
