Virginia Giuffre, a person who accused Epstein, ends her own life

Virginia Giuffre, who had accused Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, has taken her own life in Australia, her family announced on Saturday. They expressed their profound grief and stated that Giuffre, a US and Australian citizen, had been a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and trafficking. She was 41 years old.

Giuffre had accused Epstein, a billionaire, of using her as a sex slave and was a central figure in his downfall. Prince Andrew was also involved in the allegations. The investigation into Epstein’s abuse of underage girls began in 2005 and continued beyond his suicide in 2019. Giuffre publicly came forward with her accusations, detailing how Epstein sexually abused her and pressured her into sexual acts with his associates.

“In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight. We know that she is with the angels,” her family wrote in the statement. She is survived by her three children.
