A former Senate staff member for Marco Rubio, a business consultant, and former United States Secretary of State, has been chosen as the top executive for Europe in the US State Department, according to a statement on the department’s website from Friday. Brendan Hanrahan is the appointed senior bureau official for the State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs (EUR).
