    <p class="dcr-16w5gq9">Welcome to Guardian Australia's live coverage of the <strong>Erin Patterson</strong> trial, which is set to resume at 10.30am this morning.</p>
    <p class="dcr-16w5gq9">Patterson stands accused of murdering her in-laws, <strong>Don</strong> and <strong>Gail Patterson</strong>, as well as her sister-in-law <strong>Heather Wilkinson</strong>, by serving them a beef wellington dish laced with death cap mushrooms in July 2023. This incident took place in the town of Leongatha, in southeastern Australia.</p>
    <p class="dcr-16w5gq9">Patterson is also accused of attempting to murder Heathers’ husband, <strong>Ian Wilkinson</strong>, who fell ill after the lunch but recovered.</p>
    <p class="dcr-16w5gq9">She pleads not guilty to the murders and attempted murders of her estranged husband’s relatives, <strong>Simon Patterson</strong>.</p>
    <p class="dcr-16w5gq9">The trial is expected to conclude in five to six weeks and is being held in Morwell, Victoria’s Gippsland region.</p>
