Sudan’s RSF Conducts Drone Strike Close to Port Sudan Airport, According to Army Reports: Current Events

BREAKING,

The Sudanese army claims a military airbase, a cargo warehouse, and some civilian facilities were attacked in Port Sudan during the initial RSF attack in the eastern city.

Sudan’s army reports that the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched an attack on a military airbase and various facilities near Port Sudan airport.
According to the army’s statement on Sunday, the RSF used a drone to target the airbase, along with a cargo warehouse and several civilian facilities, marking the first such attack by the RSF in the eastern city.
Reports indicate some damage after drones hit an ammunition depot.
“Both the civilian and military airports are situated within the same complex. From information provided by residents in the port city, it is known that the RSF launched five drones to target the airbase,” said Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan, reporting from Khartoum.
“The airport features a section for civilian flights and another for military flights, making it unclear whether the drones aimed for military or civilian facilities, or both,” she added.
“There have been no confirmed reports of civilian casualties to date, and it’s unclear whether the RSF intended to target a fighter jet that had been showcased during an air force display on Saturday afternoon.”
