India launched missiles targeting three air bases within Pakistan, most of which were intercepted, according to Pakistani military officials. This marks the latest escalation between the nuclear-armed rivals and follows a mass shooting India attributes to Pakistan. In his address, Pakistani army spokesman Lt. Gen. Ahmad Sharif stated that the country’s air force assets are safe and that some of the Indian missiles also struck eastern Punjab. He called this a provocation of the highest order, without any immediate response from India.
