Sudan’s Port City Rocked by Attacks in Last Week

A massive increase in water price is among the results of an aerial attack on the Red Sea city of Port Sudan. Once considered a relatively safe haven from Sudan’s brutal civil war, the city now faces a wave of bombings from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group. After six days of drone attacks, smoke rises from the three fuel depots that were targeted, and the rescue teams struggle to put out the fires. The conflict which started as a power struggle between RSF and the army has led to one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises and displaced over 12 million people.
