Provisional Winner Announced: Nicolette Boele Takes Bradfield in New South Wales by 40 Votes

Nicolette Boele has emerged as the provisional winner for Bradfield in Sydney’s north shore after a nail-biting count. The decision was reached as Boele secured a last-minute 40-vote lead over Gisele Kapterian, the Liberal candidate. The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) reported Boele’s win with a margin of 50.02% to Kapterian’s 49.98%, leading to expectations of a recount due to the close margin. Despite the initial calls for the Liberal Party in Bradfield, the final postal votes tilted the balance in Boele’s favor. Boele, a second-time challenger, received support from Simon Holmes a Court’s Climate 200. Kapterian, a Salesforce executive and former Liberal staffer, was initially favored to win after securing the Liberal preselection in January, defeating notable no campaigner Warren Mundine. The seat of Bradfield has traditionally been held by Liberal MPs since its establishment in 1949. In addition, in Goldstein, Tim Wilson maintained his narrow lead over Zoe Daniel by 206 votes, with 332 votes still pending processing.
