Wednesday update: Labour’s approach to the aftermath of the equality act judgment | Transgender issues

Good morning. The Labour Party is considering canceling its national women’s conference in response to a Supreme Court ruling that the term “woman” in the Equality Act refers exclusively to “biological women”. The final guidance on implementing the ruling is to be issued by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) after an extended six-week public consultation period. The cancelation has raised concerns about the confusion the ruling will have on businesses and individuals. I’ve spoken to Scotland correspondent Libby Brooks for an in-depth look at the fallout of the Supreme Court ruling.
