The investigation into the suspicious disappearance of 17-year-old Phoebe Bishop continues, with her mother pleading for answers and the police ongoing search entering its second week.
Phoebe was last seen near Bundaberg airport in southern Queensland on May 15th at approximately 8:30am, after booking a trip to Western Australia. As of now, there has been no sight or communication from her. Surveillance footage has revealed that she never entered the airport.
Phoebe’s mother, Kylie Johnson, has made another emotional plea on social media for any information about her daughter. She expressed their deep love for Phoebe and their fervent hope for her safe return.
Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson confirmed that the disappearance is considered suspicious due to the unusual nature of the incident. Normally, Phoebe would have made contact with someone by now.
The search has focused on a property in Gin Gin, where Phoebe resided with two others, and a Hyundai ix35 believed to be the car she rode to the airport. Police have seized the vehicle, suspected to belong to one of her housemates. They also believe that the people she was living with may have dropped her off at the airport.
Law enforcement has requested dashcam or CCTV footage of the vehicle, bearing the registration number 414EW3, around the airport and in the Gin Gin area on the day of her disappearance.
While the investigation continues to scrutinize Phoebe’s last known activities, Detective Thompson stressed that despite the suspicious nature of the disappearance, it doesn’t necessarily mean something sinister has happened.
Phoebe is described as an 180cm tall teenager with a pale complexion, long red-dyed hair, hazel eyes. She was last seen with luggage, dressed in a green tank top and grey sweatpants. Any information related to her whereabouts is urgently sought.
