Tanks from the Israeli military have been firing on Al-Awda Hospital, located in the Tel Al-Zaatar area in northern Gaza, resulting in fires and severe damage as per hospital officials.
Mohamed Salha, the director, recounted the night as a “horror” as Israeli forces hit the third floor and target fuel and medication storage areas with drones, quadcopters, and tanks.
Al-Awda is among the last operational hospitals in northern Gaza, with the nearby Indonesian Hospital currently also under attack.
It is unclear how many of Al-Awda’s 130 staff and volunteers have been injured. The Israeli military claims there was no planned strike on the hospital and is currently investigating the origin of the explosions.
