Emotional testimony from Kardashian highlighted the traumatic nature of the robbery, with forgiveness extended to the ringleader.
Chief Judge David De Pas acknowledged that the court considered the defendants’ ages and health issues, which influenced the decision to impose sentences that were not overly severe. During the October 2, 2016, robbery, Kardashian was tied up and in fear for her life as millions of dollars worth of jewels were stolen from her hotel room during Paris Fashion Week.
Kardashian, who was not present for the verdict, issued a statement expressing that while she will never forget the incident, she believes in “the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all.” She remains committed to advocating for justice and a fair legal system.
Aomar Ait Khedache, the 69-year-old ringleader of the group, was given an eight-year sentence with five years suspended. Three others received seven years with five suspended, and three more received between three to five years, mostly or completely suspended. The eighth person was found guilty of a weapons charge and fined. Two of the 10 defendants were acquitted.

During the trial, Kardashian emotionally recounted the terror experienced during the robbery and her fear of death. Despite this, she expressed forgiveness towards Ait Khedache, acknowledging a letter he had written expressing remorse.

Previously, a letter from Khedache expressing remorse was read to Kardashian, who responded by offering her forgiveness. On the final day of the trial, Khedache again asked for “a thousand pardons” in a written note, with the other defendants also expressing regret for their actions.
