A German woman, aged 39, has been arrested after a knife attack at the main train station in Hamburg left at least 17 people injured, four of whom sustained life-threatening injuries during the incident on Friday evening. The attack happened during the city’s peak rush hour. Authorities suspect that the perpetrator might have experienced a “psychological emergency” rather than a political motive, as indicated by a Hamburg police spokesperson, Florian Abbenseth. The suspect did not resist arrest. The attack, which involved the suspect turning against waiting passengers, saw four train platforms shutdown, with the German Chancellor expressing deep shock at the event.
