Multiple deaths reported in Ukraine amid ongoing aerial assaults between Moscow and Kyiv

Russian strikes have taken the lives of at least nine individuals across Ukraine during the night, according to Ukrainian officials who reported the incidents on Sunday.

In a communication on the Telegram app, emergency services announced that four people had been killed and 16 injured in the Kyiv region, including three children, as a result of a “massive night attack” involving missiles and drones.

In the Khmelnytskyi region of western Ukraine, another four individuals were killed and five injured.

“Last night, the Khmelnytskyi region faced antagonistic Russian fire, leading to the destruction of civilian infrastructure. Unfortunately, this resulted in the deaths of four people,” stated Serhiy Tyurin, the deputy head of the regional military administration, in a Telegram post.

Officials have also confirmed the death of another individual due to an attack in the southern city of Mykolaiv.

This unfolding situation follows reports by Russian authorities of intercepting a dozen Ukrainian drones that were heading towards Moscow.

Restrictions have been placed on at least four airports in the Russian capital, including the primary Sheremetyevo airport, according to the Russian civilian aviation authority.

To date, there have been no confirmed reports of casualties on the Russian side.
