In a closely contested match at Miami Gardens, Michael Olise scored in the 84th minute to give Bayern Munich a crucial 2-1 victory over Argentina’s Boca Juniors, ensuring the German champions’ place in the knockout phase of the Club World Cup.
From a scramble inside the penalty area, Harry Kane facilitated the play by sending the ball back to Olise, who decisively shot it into the bottom left corner of the net.
Boca Juniors managed to level the score in the 66th minute with a goal from Miguel Merentiel, after Barcelona déjà vu, a first-half lead from Kane.
Bayern Munich (2-0-0, 6 points), who dominated their Group C opener with a 10-0 win over semi-pro Auckland City (0-2-0, 0 points), faced a challenging match against Boca.
While Boca Juniors (0-1-1, 1 point) still have a chance to advance, they will need to secure a significant victory against Auckland City on Tuesday in Nashville and hope Benfica (1-0-1, 4 points) fails to beat Bayern in Charlotte on the same day.

For Boca’s goal, Alan Velasco provided a strategic pass from midfield that Pais Gallardochased down, outstripping Bayern’s Jonathan Tah before rounding Josip Stanisic and shooting a powerful right-footed ball over goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Bayern responded with an impactful goal, where Konrad Laimer sent a precise pass to the center of the Boca penalty area.
Kingsley Coman then tapped the ball back to Kane, who despite taking a heavy touch, managed to score with his left foot from a 12-yard distance.
