The entire speech given by President Trump on Saturday night:
Just moments ago, the US military executed massive precision strikes against Iran’s main nuclear facilities, namely Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
These names have been known for years as they developed this horribly destructive operation. Our goal was to destroy Iran’s capacity for nuclear enrichment and to halt the nuclear threat presented by the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.
I can now report to the world that the strikes were a complete military success. Iran’s primary nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and utterly eliminated. From now on, Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must choose peace.
Should they refuse, future attacks will be far more severe and far easier to execute.
For forty years, Iran has chanted “Death to America, Death to Israel”.
They have been killing our people, severing their arms and legs with roadside bombs – that was their boast.
We have lost over a thousand people, and hundreds of thousands throughout the Middle East and around the world have died as a direct result of their hatred. Particularly, so many lives were lost due to their general, Qassem Soleimani.
I decided a long time ago that this would not continue.
It will not continue.
I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.
We worked together like no team before, and we’ve made tremendous strides in erasing this terrible threat to Israel.
I want to thank the Israeli military for their excellent work and, most importantly, I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight, and all members of the United States military for an operation like nothing seen in decades.
Hopefully, we won’t need their services in this capacity any longer. I hope that will be the case. I also want to congratulate General Dan “Razin” Caine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and all the brilliant military strategists involved in this operation.
However, this cannot continue.
There will be either peace or a tragedy for Iran far greater than what we have seen over the past eight days.
Remember, numerous targets still remain. Tonight’s were the most difficult and potentially most lethal, but if peace does not soon prevail, we will pursue the other targets with precision, speed, and skill. Most of these can be neutralized in a matter of minutes.
No military in the world could have done what we achieved tonight – not even close. There has never been a military as capable as what we witnessed just a short time ago.
Tomorrow, General Caine, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, will hold a press conference at 8AM (12:00 GMT) at the Pentagon. I want to thank everyone, and in particular, God.
Let’s just say, “We love you, God, and we love our great military. Protect them.” God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel, and God bless America.
Thank you very much. Thank you.
