Mass demonstration of approximately 140,000 individuals denouncing Serbia’s populist government


Around 140,000 anti-government protesters clashed with the police in Belgrade, Serbia’s capital, on Saturday evening, demanding that the populist government hold early elections. For months, students have been organizing protests, seeking justice for the 16 individuals killed when a train station collapsed in November — a disaster widely attributed to government incompetence and corruption.
