A second man in Victoria has been charged with multiple child sexual abuse offences, including rape and bestiality. Michael Simon Wilson, from Wyndham Vale, faces 45 charges related to child abuse material, rape, and bestiality. The accused is set to appear in court in September, the same day as Joshua Dale Brown, a 26-year-old resident of Point Cook who has been charged with over 70 offences related to child sexual abuse. The two men are known to each other, according to court documents. The revelation of a second man charged in relation to child sexual abuse came after the government announced plans to create a register of childcare workers and ban personal devices from childcare centres. The Victorian Premier, Jacinta Allan, also announced an urgent review into childcare safety, which is due on August 15. Parent advocacy groups, politicians, and child protection organizations have called for a national review of child protection protocols, more rigorous screening, monitoring, and reporting systems.
