Tunisian court hands down sentences to opposition figures on charges of conspiracy against the government


On Tuesday, several key Tunisian politicians, among them opposition leader Rached Ghannounchi, were sentenced to at least 12 years in prison for “conspiracy” against the state, representing a further tightening of President Kais Saied’s grip on his political adversaries.
