In 2024, the United Nations reported that over 14 million children have not received any vaccinations at all. The World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, in a collaborative report, highlighted that in Europe and Central Asia, childhood vaccination rates either did not improve or dropped by 1%.

Officials have expressed concerns over the significant dissemination of misinformation and the reduction in international aid, which have contributed to gaps in vaccine coverage. This situation leaves millions of children vulnerable to preventable diseases.

UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell emphasized, “Millions of children lack the protection provided by vaccines against diseases that can be prevented. This is a concern for all of us.”
