In Beijing on Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Jean-Claude Gakosso, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Congo, to pledge their commitment to advancing the high-quality development of China-Africa cooperation.
Wang, who’s also a member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee’s Political Bureau, highlighted the bilateral relationship between China and the Republic of Congo as a shining example of China-Africa solidarity and cooperation. Stressing the significance of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in fostering unity between China and African countries to achieve common development, Wang affirmed China’s readiness to work closely with the Republic of Congo in implementing the outcomes of last year’s Beijing Summit of FOCAC, particularly the “Ten Partnership Actions.”
Additionally, Wang urged China and African nations to stand together and collaborate more closely to safeguard the common interests of developing countries and strive for global peace, stability, and development amidst the chaotic international landscape.
Gakosso emphasized the Republic of Congo’s commitment to its role as co-chair of FOCAC and expressed its willingness to work hand in hand with China to prepare for both the ministerial meeting of coordinators responsible for implementing FOCAC outcomes and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, with the goal of achieving more fruitful results in Africa-China cooperation.
