Additionally, the commission confiscated over 931,000 metric tons of petroleum products, 975 properties, and shares of companies.
In its report released on Monday, the commission announced that it achieved over 4,000 successful criminal convictions, the highest since its establishment more than two decades ago.
Some of the retrieved funds have been utilized for government projects, according to the agency.
Nigeria has been plagued by widespread corruption for years, which is believed by many to be a major contributor to extensive poverty and underdevelopment.
On Transparency International’s latest Corruption Perception Index, the country holds the 140th position out of 180.
