Hundreds of so-called “Hands Off” protests took place on Saturday, opposing the Trump administration’s plans for government restructuring and expansion of executive power.
Despite the poor weather conditions, thousands gathered on the grassy area surrounding the Washington Monument in the capital.
Organizers estimate that over 250,000 individuals participated in demonstrations in all 50 states, including the National Mall in the capital.
Protesters voiced their growing discontent and frustration with various policies of Trump.
This encompasses their perception of attacks on federal employees, education, healthcare programs, the economy, the treatment of vulnerable communities, and the deportation of immigrants.
In various cities worldwide, such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, and London, American expatriates and local supporters also assembled in solidarity.
Meanwhile, Trump spent the day in Florida, playing golf before returning to his Mar-a-Lago estate.
