  • A female individual from Australia has been declared culpable in a legal case involving the murder of someone by using mushrooms as a lethal agent.

An Australian woman, Erin Patterson, has been convicted of murdering her estranged husband’s parents and aunt by serving them a meal laced with poisonous mushrooms.

Erin Patterson was found guilty of three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder following a nine-week trial in the regional town of Morwell.

Patterson, 50, had denied the murders of her father-in-law, Donald Patterson, her mother-in-law, Gail Patterson, and Gail’s sister, Heather Wilkinson, as well as the attempted murder of Heather’s husband, Ian Wilkinson.
