Media Network Denounces Assassination of Gaza Correspondent by Israeli Forces
Al Jazeera Media Network vehemently condemns the assassination of Hossam Shabat, its Mubasher correspondent, who was killed in an Israeli air strike that targeted his vehicle in Jabalia.
Hossam Shabat joins the list of Al Jazeera’s journalists and correspondents who have been killed during the ongoing conflict in Gaza, including Samer Abudaqa, Hamza Al-Dahdouh, Ismail Al-Ghoul, and Ahmed Al-Louh.
Al Jazeera is dedicated to taking all legal action necessary to hold accountable those responsible for these heinous acts against journalists. It stands in resolute support of journalists in Gaza and is committed to securing justice for the over 200 journalists who have been killed in Gaza since October 2023.
The Network offers its deepest condolences to Hossam’s family and urges all human rights and media organizations to denounce the Israeli occupation’s continuous targeting of journalists, its disregard for international humanitarian law, and to demand justice for these vicious acts.
