Biden team denies cancer diagnosis rumors amid allegations of secrecy | Political Affairs Update

The Biden administration has confirmed that former President Biden was not diagnosed with prostate cancer before last week and had not had a blood test for the disease in over a decade. This statement comes in response to skepticism expressed by critics, including current President Donald Trump, concerning the timing of Biden’s diagnosis. Trump questioned why the information was not made public earlier, suggesting a potential cover-up.

According to Biden’s office, the former president’s last known prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test was conducted in 2014. They added that he had never been diagnosed with prostate cancer until last Friday, when it was revealed that the cancer had spread to his bones with a Gleason score of 9, indicating an aggressive form of the disease.

Trump’s comments have fueled speculation about whether Biden’s claims regarding his health during his presidency were accurate. This has reignited discussions about whether Biden and his team may have downplayed or concealed the extent of his health issues while in office.

Despite some medical professionals questioning how Biden could have gone undiagnosed given his access to the best healthcare, others have noted that routine screening for prostate cancer is typically not recommended for men over 70 due to the potential quality of life implications from unnecessary treatments. Additionally, certain types of cancer may not be detected by blood tests, which further supports the Biden camp’s account of the diagnosis.

Biden’s age and health were subjects of significant concern during his presidency and re-election campaign, particularly after he withdrew following a disappointing debate performance against Trump. Critics have accused Biden and his team of attempting to hide his physical and mental decline while in office. A new book authored by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, titled “Original Sin,” details alleged efforts by the Biden camp to conceal his deterioration, including an incident where Biden reportedly failed to recognize actor George Clooney at a 2024 fundraiser.
